The Cookie Jar of Death

We all have our weaknesses. For some people, the biggest barrier to successful weight loss is the cookie jar – and reaching the bottom of it is no challenge. For others, it's almost impossible to go to the grocery check out line without buying six or seven candy bars. Or what about that one dish of ice cream that ended when you hit the cardboard at the bottom of the container?

Here are some steps to help you beat your over-eating impulses:

1) Go to the store with someone else. Staying accountable starts with accountability!
2) Distract yourself. Go for a walk. Read a book. Think about anything except food.
3) Turn off the TV. Commercials are made to be tempting; don't be sucked in: change the channel.
4) Just one means JUST ONE! If you really can't say no, just get one.
5) Try low fat and low sugar treats.
