Sure, It’s Fast, But Is It Food?

Fast food can easily be seen as a major cause of obesity, especially in the United States. Our lives have become so hectic with kids, spouses, housework, full-time jobs, and after-school activities, it may seem like there is no time to cook dinner for your family. Zipping through the drive-through for a hamburger may seem like it's saving you time, but it may be taking time away from you in the long run.
The high fat and low fiber content of fast food has the potential to affect more than just your waistline. There is very little good nutrition in most fast food meals, and this not only can lead to obesity, which can negatively affect your health. To avoid eating fast food, keep granola bars, low fat yogurt, and fresh fruit and vegetables in a cooler in your car for after extracurricular activities. If you have to get fast food, opt for a salad, not French fries.
